Greg Kessinger, President and owner of Safe Harbor Security Inc. started his own one-man alarm company 25 years ago in Vermilion,
OH, while still a school teacher at Admiral King High School. After a ten-year stint in Elyria, the business returned in 2000 to downtown
Vermilion, with an expanded staff. Safe Harbor’s customer base includes many local businesses, government and utility buildings, and
all the Vermilion school buildings. Greg has set high standards for his firm and prides himself on the excellent customer service
they provide.
Mr. Kessinger also enjoys working in his consulting firm where he travels statewide as well as nationally
to provide fire alarm system training to installers, designers and inspectors. He is also the author of “Grill the Fire Expert”, a
monthly column in the industry periodical, Security Dealer.
Kessinger became involved in the Fire/Life Safety Committee
shortly after becoming a member of the NBFAA. His professional knowledge and enthusiasm were soon recognized and he was asked to become
the committee chairperson. Kessinger’s recent work on the Fire/Life Safety Committee has included his participation in the drafting
of fire safety legislation that is currently being circulated in Washington D.C. as well as his contributions to the NBFAA Standards
Committee as a significant contributor to their Remote Supervising Station standard.
“His experience in the fire/life safety
arena provides the solid foundation of knowledge required to lead a committee of this nature. Combine true subject matter expertise
with resolute dedication to this association and you get a good sense of how valuable Greg has been as a member and a leader on this
committee for the past four years,” NBFAA president George Gunning states.
